🎨 A Journey of Friendship and Art: The Story of Bhaswati Patra’s Creative Soul

In every journey, there are people who leave a permanent mark on our hearts — and for me, Bhaswati Patra is one of them. Though not a classmate, she is a close friend from our cherished school journey, and over the years has grown to be not only a compassionate healthcare professional but also a soulful artist whose paintings reflect grace, tradition, and inner beauty.

Bhaswati studied at Bijoynagar Adarsha Vidyamandir (H.S) and later pursued her professional education at Haritha College of Nursing, School of Nursing Paramedical College, where she learned to care for others with empathy and responsibility. But beyond her academic and medical pursuits, she carries a creative spirit that shines through in every stroke of her brush.

What makes her artistic journey special is that she learned the basics of drawing from me — Asgar Molla. Around 12 years ago, during our school days, I shared with her my passion for art — pencil sketches, color work, figures, and forms. I still remember those quiet moments sitting side by side with our drawing books open, the sound of pencils scratching paper, the excitement of finishing a new piece. Watching her talent blossom over the years has been one of my proudest joys. From simple school sketches to vibrant portraits of traditional Indian women, her work radiates sensitivity, culture, and elegance.

🎨 About the Art

In this special collection, you’ll find some of Bhaswati’s artworks — all handmade with love and colored pencil, created over 12 years ago. Each piece is a reflection of her imagination and heritage:

  • A graceful woman draped in a pink saree, her expression soft and reflective — a tribute to Indian femininity and poise.

  • A young village girl walking barefoot on lush green grass under a tree, evoking the innocence of rural life.

  • A couple lovingly drawn side by side, showing affection and the bond of companionship.

  • A woman sitting quietly beside a basket of flowers, a spiritual and serene scene full of devotion.

  • A vibrant woman in a teal saree holding a clay pot, a symbol of rural strength and grace.

Each drawing is full of small, beautiful details — the bangles, the expressions, the clothing textures, and background patterns. Her ability to convey deep emotion through color and simplicity speaks volumes, especially for someone who has been balancing the demands of a nursing career. Her art is not just visual — it is emotional. It tells stories of tradition, strength, and the timeless beauty of Indian women.

👭 Friendship That Inspires

Along with Moumita Mandal — another dear friend from my school journey — we’ve shared not just memories, but dreams, laughter, and creative growth. Both Bhaswati Patra and Moumita Mandal are my friends, and our friendship goes back to those unforgettable early school years filled with shared notebooks, festive celebrations, and creative spark.

This beautiful chapter of our lives began over 12 years ago. The three of us — Bhaswati, Moumita, and I — shared a deep connection in those days, and though life has taken us on different paths, these paintings are more than just art — they’re symbols of our friendship, our shared roots, and how far we’ve come individually.

Although I haven’t met them for many years, this memory still lives on warmly in my heart. It’s not just nostalgia — it’s a reminder of a time when creativity, friendship, and simple joy painted the most vibrant days of our youth.

🖼️ Moments Behind the Scenes

The photos from those days capture genuine joy, admiration, and creativity. These images are a reflection of not just our friendship but the emotion behind every canvas. Even though we no longer meet regularly, the bond we once shared and the moments we created together remain everlasting.

I feel grateful to have been a mentor to Bhaswati in her early artistic steps, and blessed to have had her and Moumita as friends during that time. These memories from over a decade ago are among the most beautiful and meaningful chapters of my life.

🌟 Final Thoughts

If Bhaswati’s work inspires you as much as it does me, please show her some love in the comments or share this blog with your friends. Her journey proves that no matter where life takes us, our passions and friendships remain the true colors of our lives.

Art isn’t always about fame or perfection — sometimes, it’s about expression, healing, remembering who we are, and sharing joy. And through every color and pencil stroke, Bhaswati Patra continues to do just that — reminding us that even in a busy, noisy world, beauty still lives in simplicity, tradition, and heartfelt friendship.

Bijoynagar Adarsha Vidyamandir (H.S)

Bijoynagar Adarsha Vidyamandir (H.S) is the school where we completed our school education and created countless unforgettable memories. It was more than just a place to study—it was a space where friendships blossomed, creativity was nurtured, and life-long values were learned. Those classrooms, corridors, and playgrounds still hold the essence of our childhood. Even today, the moments we spent there continue to live in our hearts.
