A Peaceful Day of Fishing in the Village Pond | Family Moments in Sundarban

Fishing isn’t just about catching fish — it’s about creating memories, connecting with nature, and cherishing family time. In this blog, I share a joyful day spent with my father and Tahamina, fishing together in our village pond in Sundarban.

🎣 Our Village Fishing Experience

On a warm sunny day, we decided to go fishing the traditional way — using a fishing net and casting lines. The excitement began as we prepared our gear and headed towards the pond. There’s something magical about the quiet ripple of water, birds chirping nearby, and the thrill of the unknown beneath the surface.

🧓 My Father’s Traditional Net Fishing Skills

My father led the way with his years of experience. With steady hands and a deep knowledge of the pond, he cast the fishing net skillfully. His patience paid off, as we started catching various fish — rohu, catla, tilapia, and even some shrimp!

🧕 Tahamina's First Catch

Tahamina, always excited to try new things, picked up the rod and waited patiently. Her smile said it all when she caught her first fish. It was a small silver fish — a moment of pure joy and achievement.

Together, We Made It Count

I joined in too, casting lines and helping collect fish in the blue bucket. The moment we saw the bucket filling up was deeply satisfying. Freshwater fish, straight from our own land — what could be better?

🐟 Fish Cleaning and Cooking at Home

After the catch, we brought the fish home. Tahamina and my mother cleaned them carefully, and we cooked a delicious traditional Bengali fish curry using mustard oil, green chilies, and turmeric. The taste? Absolutely unforgettable.
